Extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT) uses acoustic pulses to treat certain musculoskeletal disorders. It is a well-studied and commonly used treatment modality for a variety of musculoskeletal conditions.
Tennis elbow, or lateral epicondylitis, is a tendinopathy of the common extensor origin of the lateral elbow. Golfer's elbow, or medial epicondylitis, is tendinopathy of the medial epicondyle of the elbow.
Shoulder pain is one of the more common reasons for physician visits for musculoskeletal symptoms. The shoulder is the most movable joint in the body. It is an unstable joint because of the range of motion allowed.
Back pain without sciatica, stenosis or severe spinal deformation is common and affects people of all ages. It is the second most common affliction of mankind and is among the leading complaints bringing patients to physicians’ offices.
Patellar tendinopathy, often referred to as jumper’s knee, is a chronic overuse injury of the patellar tendon. Medial tibial stress syndrome, commonly known as ‘‘shin splints”, is a frequent overuse injury or repetitive-stress injury of the lower extremity.
Greater trochanteric pain syndrome includes a number of disorders of the lateral peritrochanteric space of the hip such as tears of the gluteus medius and minimus, trochanteric bursitis, and external coxa saltans.
Plantar fasciopathy is the most common cause of plantar heel pain and accounts for approximately 11-15% of foot symptoms presenting to physicians. It is an acute or chronic, painful disorder of the plantar fascia.
Using the Swiss Dolorclast® device, Shock Wave Therapy is a highly effective, non-invasive application, which has successfully been used to treat a multitude of chronic conditions including pain and injury. This gentle treatment is facilitated through compressed air driven shockwaves, delivered directly to the area of pain. The high pressure sound waves travel through the skin to stimulate the body's own healing powers. As we are all different, so too are our pain and ailments, therefore treatment is individually tailored to you.
Most people see great results in as little as 2-3 weekly sessions, some indications may require more. The Swiss Dolorclast® devices are the most used for studies on Shock Waves. Hi Everyone, my name is Sandi Uren and I'm the very proud owner of Shock Wave Therapy Queensland.
The inspiration for starting this venture is my husband. In 2015 he could barely move his shoulder (commonly known as ‘frozen shoulder’) - as a car detailer, being able to use his shoulders and arms was crucial to his business. Along came a dear friend with a solution - Shock Wave Therapy. My husband placed his trust in the treatment and was rewarded with not only free movement of his shoulder but he became totally pain free after 8 treatments and has greater mobility than ever before. Fast forward 1 year and he sustained a lower back injury with severe sciatic pain, and hardly able to walk. He first sought help from his chiropractor who gave some relief but found the best results came from a combination of Shock Wave Therapy and chiropractic care. He was back on his feet and fully mobile within months.
The dear friend who introduced us to Shock Wave Therapy was the driving force behind me setting up my own business. I’ve always had a passion to help people, and what better way than doing something where I’ve been able to see first hand, the amazing benefits that have come from Shock Wave Therapy. I have always worked in customer relations based fields mostly medical based where my empathy and care have been forefront and I truly believe these attributes are essential when working closely with someone and their health. In August of 2019 I decided that it was time for me to begin a new venture and started the process of making Shock Wave Therapy Queensland a reality.
I am fully certified, trained by Gloria Allery - ATRAD Certified Accreditor, whose experience in this industry is highly regarded both in Australia and Europe. My business is run from home, providing you with a calm and relaxing environment in a dedicated treatment room.
